Cute little thing

Aww, isn't that just a cutest little thing?

Of course, what goes in and comes out is a bit less cute:

Yellow is what's going in, green what's coming out. Pay attention to scales!

The signal comes directly from a signal generator so the power of the output signal is essentially nonexistent. Still, when dealing with such high voltages, I'm not putting my hands anywhere near that thing when it's connected. I get really nervous (and very very careful) whenever dealing with large voltages (anything over 50v or so), and really, that's how it should be. Electrical burns aren't fun - been there, experienced that.

There's just one thing that's more dangerous that high-voltage source, and that is high current source. 100v at 1 milliamp may burn your circuit or give you a nasty shock, but even 1 millivolt at 100 amps through wrong thing will ruin your day. And since the voltage is low, it's too easy to forget that and be a bit too sloppy.

That being said, now what can I do with this little thing...
